Is NYSP a scam?

If you or your child has recently received a nomination to attend one of our programs, you probably have some questions.

Most of the answers you are looking for regarding general program information can be found on the program web site or in our overall FAQ.

However, one important question you might have is of a different nature.

Is NYSP some kind of a scam?

No, the National Young Scholars Program (NYSP) is not a scam.

In fact, the National Young Scholars Program (NYSP) as part of Envision EMI has been offering these programs for over 25 years. We have now mentored over 600,000 students in elementary school all the way through college. We take great pride in the fact that our nominating teachers refer new students to our programs year after year.

Additionally, you can rest assured knowing that the Better Business Bureau has awarded us an "A" rating (visit the BBB website). Of the more than 150,000 students that have participated in Envision EMI programs in the last three years, less than 0.06% of them filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

Asking whether something is a scam is a natural question when you first learn about an unfamiliar program, so here are some straight answers that we think will help you as you try to separate fact from fiction.

The main questions that families want to know include:

  1. How are students chosen for the programs, and are they really exclusive?
  2. Do these programs actually provide anything of value to students?
  3. Is the company behind the programs legitimate?

We believe in what we do, and want to ensure that you do as well. Please read on to gain some clarification about our company and our programs.
